ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that a company can use to enhance its environmental performance. This standard helps a company seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that adds to the environmental standing of sustainability. It also helps a company achieve the intended result of its environmental management system, which provides value for the environment, the company itself and interested parties. It is applicable to any company, regardless of size and nature, and applies to the environmental aspects of its pursuits, products and services that the company determines it can control considering a life cycle perspective. ISO 14001:2015 does not mention specific environmental performance criteria. The standard can be used collectively or in part to systematically improve environmental management. Claims of conformity to ISO 14001:2015, however, are not acceptable unless all its requirements are included into a company’s environmental management system and completed without exclusion.
